Some power loads along railway lines often face the challenge of inadequate coverage by the public power grid. In response to this situation, the power-related regulations stipulate that power can be obtained by installing a power transformer on the secondary side of the traction transformer.

However, actual measurement results of the power supply obtained from the catenary via a 27.5/0.23kV power transformer indicate significant power quality issues: the effective voltage fluctuates between 154V and 286V, the peak voltage varies from 210V to 450V, and the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the voltage exceeds 20%. Such unstable and highly distorted voltage is prone to causing abnormal operation of electrical loads along the line and may even lead to equipment damage.
